On the 3rd of Januari 2017, the first day of the new USA Congress 115, dAPPLED.org released their first beta version of their social website and app with all the latest news from Congress.
Never before was there a platform where civilians could directly interact with their elected representatives, share their opinions about new causes presented in Congress and have the opportunity to cast their votes on important issues.
With the new app and website from dAPPLED.org users can create their own personalized newsfeed with information about bills and resolutions presented to Congress, but they can also follow their favorite Senators and Representatives and use the app to monitor their voting habits.
The dAPPLED.org platform makes it possible for individuals to cast their votes and share their opinions on current issues that are raised in Congress and creates a unique alternative for the normal voting process where people can vote only ones every so often on whether or not their politicians can do their work for a couple more years.
Its a social media platform about US politics and real important issues. Its about national and international causes, but it’s also about local issues that will influence every American.
It’s direct democracy in action for the first time in the USA, where ordinary people can follow and monitor their elected representatives and use an app to tell their politicians how they feel about issues that affect them.
Will it work better than what we have today, or will it be a disruptive force corrupting the current democratic system? We don’t know, but we are very curious if this is going to be the new app that everyone is going to use for Democracy 2.0 in the USA.
You can find out more from their website https://dappled.org or download the app from the App Store.
The Apple iPhone app is released on the 20th of January, during the inauguration of Donald Trump, the new President of the United States.
